Ward is an accredited real estate appraiser (P.App, AACI) with the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC), bringing over 25 years of experience in the appraisal field. He has provided consulting services and completed hundreds of appraisal assignments for a wide range of properties in both the private and public sectors. His expertise spans diverse property types including residential, rural residential, multi-residential, commercial retail, commercial office, industrial, institutional, land (over 100 agricultural/farm, ecologically sensitive, parks and conservation, commercial/industrial/residential awaiting development, building lots, school sites), lease renewals, ground leases, and more.

Ward specializes in expropriation matters, including the analysis of diminution in value and injurious affection, as well as litigation-related assignments. He frequently appears before the Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly known as the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, Ontario Municipal Board, and Board of Negotiation) to represent various expropriated property owners and Authorities throughout Ontario.  Ward has provided expert witness testimony at the Ontario Land Tribunal, the Superior Court of Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
