Robert is an Accredited Real Estate Appraiser and Professional Land Economist with over 50 years of experience.  He has consulted on and prepared appraisals on a wide variety of property types. He has extensive experience in the valuation of development land throughout most southern Ontario markets. Appraisals have been prepared for market value disputes (including expropriation and partnership matters), purchase and sale purposes, as well as lease rental renewals.  Development residual analyses and cash flow projections have been prepared for valuation and comparative purposes 

Robert has qualified to and has given expert witness evidence before Judges and Masters of the Superior Court of Ontario, the  Ontario Land Tribunal (formerly the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal, formerly the Ontario Municipal Board, formerly the Board of Negotiation), the Federal Tax Review Board and various arbitration tribunals. He has also served as an Arbitrator / Mediator on various land valuation related disputes. 

Robert has worked on behalf of property owners, developers, institutions as well as various government agencies at the local, regional, provincial, and federal levels.

Seminars and Publications 

Robert has prepared and presented various seminars and technical papers over the years. Topics have included injurious affection to development land, the implications of Section 14 (4) (b), the influence of the scheme on development timing, the implications of the Dell Holdings decision on expropriation valuations, valuation issues for expropriation claims, presentation of expert evidence, coordination of expert evidence, adding value to the appraisal exercise and the valuation of leased fee interests. This material has been presented to both Ontario and National Appraisal Institute of Canada conferences, Ontario and British Columbia Expropriation Association conferences, the Ontario Municipal Board, the Ontario Board of Negotiation, and the Canadian Bar Association.
